The Boondocks Television

What makes people see the Boondocks TV show?
So many people do not like the Boondocks TV show on Cartoon Network. I guess some people think now animated cartoon offensive and racist. However, there are others who think differently. My question is what drives people to series? What makes you think to yourself, "Ok, the Boondocks are, let me see." The show is obviously popular that someone is watching. What makes you not see? Why do not you see? It's a guilty pleasure?
Well, what made the show in the first place? Some of you like, others do not. What made you see that first time?
I must admit at first I did not watch the show. I thought it was just a big stereotype is played a caricature. However, my ex boyfriend is a fan of the show and always took me to see their favorite episodes. I'll admit some are very funny. To answer the question, the reason why many people watch the program because it is eerily realistic. There really are some people (black and white) who think and act that way. It's not racist or whatever. Its real. Especially the Katrina episode. Some people really act that way when Katrina happened. Some people do not really want to work and were waiting in their FEMA checks. Rukus Like the character, there are actually some people who hate black people black one. It is not uncommon. Just as there are some whites, Asians and Hispanics who hate their own race. The show is not representing the black people as a whole, or what people as a whole, is only to show how some people in the world are ignorant and racist. They give it a comic touch to what people see, but for me it is very realistic. People should not feel offended by it. I think some people do not like the show feel that way because they can not handle the truth, or you can handle, but will not admit it. Just my personal opinion as a black woman. I started looking for my ex, I was looking character because I like Riley.

The Boondocks $12.3 The Boondocks took the syndication world by storm. The notoriety landed Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder in publications ranging from Time magazine to People magazine which named him one of the "25 Most Intriguing People of `99. Centered around the experiences of two young African-American boys, Huey and Riley, who move from inner-city Chicago to the suburbs (or the "boondocks" to them), the strip fuses hip-hop sensibilities with Japanese anime-style drawings and a candid discussion of race. Funny yet revealing, the combination of superb art and envelope-pushing content provides one of the most unique strips ever. |

Television $10.91 The self-possessed protagonist and narrator of Jean-Philippe Toussaint`s novel is an acedemic on sabbatical in Berlin. He plans to write a groundbreaking study of Titian, but after a couple of months, all he`s completed is "When Musset." He blames his obsession with watching TV for preventing him from writing more, so he decides to stop watching television all together (after the end of the Tour de France, of course). Still unable to write his book, he is haunted by television, from the video surveillance screens in a museum to a moment when it seems everyone in Berlin is tuned in to Baywatch. One of Toussaint`s funniest antiheroes, the protagonist of Television turns daily occurrences into comic nightmares about the influence of television on our lives. |
