What Happened to the Boondocks

what happened to the boondocks
What the freaker happened to Cartoon Network????

Seriously, I remmber back in the 1990s they had some awesome animes and cartoon shows like:

Tenchi Muyo
Gundam
Outlaw Star
Powerpuff Girls
Johnny Bravo
Dexter’s Lab
The Looney Tones
Ruronini Kenshin
Sailor Moon
Cardcaptors
WTF?!!!!

I used to rush home every day from school at 3:00 to watch Saliormoon, DBZ, Tenchi Muyo and all my anime shows. Now all they play is kiddie shows..Adult swim is getting crappy too….but they still have the Boondocks and Robot Chicken so I’m not complainng. they need more anime
I wanted to riot when they took off Yu YU Hakusho

CN is for kids, they are suppose to have kiddie cartoons in facts some of the cartoons on your list are kiddie. CN is catering to a new generation of children lets just be happy that they Adult Swin for Adults.

i can’t believe that just happened

The Boondocks took the syndication world by storm. The notoriety landed Boondocks creator Aaron McGruder in publications ranging from Time magazine to People magazine which named him one of the "25 Most Intriguing People of `99. Centered around the experiences of two young African-American boys, Huey and Riley, who move from inner-city Chicago to the suburbs (or the "boondocks" to them), the strip fuses hip-hop sensibilities with Japanese anime-style drawings and a candid discussion of race. Funny yet revealing, the combination of superb art and envelope-pushing content provides one of the most unique strips ever.

What Happened to Art Criticism?

What Happened to Art Criticism?

Art criticism was once passionate, polemical, and judgmental; now critics are more often interested in ambiguity, neutrality, and nuanced description. And while art criticism is ubiquitous in newspapers, magazines, and exhibition brochures, it is also virtually absent from academic writing. How is it that even as criticism drifts away from academia, it becomes more academic? How is it that sifting through a countless array of colorful periodicals and catalogs makes criticism seem to slip even further from our grasp? In this pamphlet, James Elkins surveys the last fifty years of art criticism, proposing some interesting explanations for these startling changes."In What Happened to Art Criticism?, art historian James Elkins sounds the alarm about the perilous state of that craft, which he believes is `In worldwide crisis . . . dissolving into the background clutter of ephemeral cultural criticism` even as more and more people are doing it. `It`s dying, but it`s everywhere . . . massively produced, and massively ignored.` Those who pay attention to other sorts of criticism may recognize the problems Elkins describes: `Local judgments are preferred to wider ones, and recently judgments themselves have even come to seem inappropriate. In their place critics proffer informal opinions or transitory thoughts, and they shy from strong commitments.` What he`d like to see more of: ambitious judgment, reflection about judgment itself, and `criticism important enough to count as history, and vice versa.` Amen to that."—Jennifer Howard, Washington Post Book World
